American hip-hop and dirty rap band 2 Live Crew from Miami, Florida, was formed in 1985. The band comprised Luke, Fresh Kid Ice, Mr. Mixx, Amazing V., Brother Marquis and Verb. They rose to fame with their third album, As Nasty As They Wanna B (1989), which yielded two singles, "Me So Horny" and "Dick Almighty". This album became their largest seller, going 2x Platinum. The album's single, "Me So Horny", was very popular in spite of little radio rotation, thanks, in part, to prevalent play on MTV.
