American hard rock and post-hardcore band 30 Seconds to Mars from Los Angeles, California, was formed in 1998. The band comprises Jared Leto, Tomo Milicevic and Shannon Leto. The band's vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter Jared Leto is also a famous Hollywood actor. The band rose to fame with the self-titled debut album, 30 Seconds to Mars (2002), which produced two singles, "Capricorn (A Brand New Name)" and "Edge of the Earth". The band achieved mainstream success with their second album, A Beautiful Lie (2005), which produced four singles, "Attack," "The Kill (Bury Me)," "From Yesterday," and "A Beautiful Lie". In 2006, the band won the MTV2 Award for "The Kill" at the MTV Video Music Awards. The album was also certified platinum by the RIAA.
