Canadian post-hardcore and melodic hardcore band Alexisonfire was formed in 2001, in St. Catharines, Ontario. The band consists of George Pettit (vocals), Dallas Green (guitar, vocals), Wade MacNeil (guitar, vocals), Chris Steele (bass), and Jordan Hastings (drums). They describe their music as "the sound of two Catholic high-school girls in mid-knife-fight" (a reference to their song "A Dagger Through the Heart of St. Angeles", also the inspiration for their debut album cover art). They achieved their break in 2004 with their second album, Watch Out!, which produced two hit singles, "No Transitory" and "Accidents". It also received gold certification in Canada. In 2009, they released their fourth album, Old Crows/Young Cardinals, which debuted at number 81 on the Billboard 200. The album also spawned the hit single, "Young Cardinals".
