Béla Viktor János Bartók (March 25, 1881–September 26, 1945) usually reffered as Bela Bartok was a Hungarian composer and pianist, and he is considered to be one of ther greatest composers of the 20th century and the best Hungarian composer along with Liszt. He’s also one of the founders of ethnomusicology as he studied folk music a lot. He collected about 30 000 songs by Hungarian, Rumanian, and Sloval peasants. He was a professor, teacher and combined this activiry with his performances, he played Liszt especially great. After the outbreak of the Second World War, the situation in Europe has worsened a lot and Bartok had to move in the United States where he settled in New York.
