Biography: American country music singer-songwriter Billy Currington (birth name William Matthew Currington) was born on November 19, 1973, in Rincon, Georgia, USA. When he was a junior in high school, Currington auditioned for a spot at Opryland, the renowned country music theme park located in Nashville, the country music capital. Failing the audition, after high school he moved to Nashville to pursue his career in country music. Released in 2003 on Mercury Nashville Records, his debut self-titled album produced the singles "Walk a Little Straighter" and "I Got a Feelin'", both of which were Top Ten hits for Currington on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
