Scottish electronica and electropop singer-songwriter and record producer Calvin Harris (birth name Adam Wiles) was born on 17 January 1984, in Dumfries, Scotland. He became famous when he was 21 with the songs, "Da Bongos" and "Brighter Days". He signed contracts with EMI (publishing) and Sony BMG (recording) in 2006. He achieved mainstream success with his breakthrough debut album, I Created Disco, which spawned two singles, "Acceptable In The 80s" and "The Girls".
