Irish folk, indie rock and folk rock singer-songwriter and musician Damien Rice was born on 7 December 1973, in Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. He became famous with his breakthrough debut album, O (2002), which yielded three singles, "The Blower's Daughter", "Cannonball" and "Volcano". This album produced three singles, "9 Crimes", "Rootless Tree" and "Dogs". His songs have appeared featured several times on popular films and television shows, adding to his mainstream success. In 2008 he participated in a music album called Songs for Tibet, which is an initiative to support Tibet, Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso and to underline the human rights situation in Tibet.
