American pop punk and metal band Digger from Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, was formed in 1995. The band comprised Phil Nelson (vocals, guitar), Chris Benner (guitar, vocals), Matt Gregorec (vocals, bass) and Mike "Maniac" Fisher (drums). After coming to the attention of California's Hopeless Records in 1996 following a live radio performance on WMUH-NJ, the band inked a deal with the label. The band released their first LP, Powerbait, and toured until the come back to the studio for recording The Promise of an Uncertain Future.
