Dizzee Rascal, birth name Dylan Kwabena Mills was born on November 1, 1985 in Bow, East London, the UK. He is a British rapper, songwriter and record producer of Ghanaian and Nigerian descent. He covers such genres as grime, hip hop, electro hop and electro grime. He began creating music on the school’s computer encouraged by his music teacher Mr. Smith. Later mother bought him his first turntables. At first became an amateur DJ and self-produced his debut single “I Luv U”. The debut album Boy in da Corner was released in 2003 and was critically acclaimed. The Rolling Stone magazine chose it as one of the 50 best albums of the year along with Kanye West, Eminem and Jadakiss. Thanks to the debut album, Rascal won Mercury Prize as The Best Newcomer.
