Aimée Ann Duffy (better known as Duffy), is a Welsh pop/rock/soul singer-songwriter. She was born on 23 June 1984 in Nefyn, Wales. She began as the participant of the Wawffactor (Welsh analogue of American Idol) and ended with a release of her debut album Rockferry in 2008. Rockferry got the immediate commercial success. It became number one on the UK album chart at once and was the best selling album in the UK in 2008. "Mercy" and "Warwick Avenue" are the massive hits from the album. It earned her the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and 4 nominations at BRIT Awards. The album was certified Gold as well as the both singles. In addition Mercy was certified Platinum in the USA. During her not so long career Duffy collaborated with Bernard Butler, Jimmy Hogarth and Eg White.
