Edward Kennedy Ellington known better as Duke Ellington was an American composer, pianist and jazz band leader. He was born on April 29, 1899 in Washington, D.C., the U.S. and died on May 24, 1974 in New York City, New York, the United States. He is generally recognized as one of the greatest figures in the jazz music history. He was Awarded by Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1966, received the President Medal of Freedom, an Honorary Degree (Ph.D) from the Berklee College of Music and Legion Honor in France. His recording were included in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Some of them are Cocktails for two, Ellington at Newport, Far East Suite, Black, Brown and Beige, Mood Indigo and some others.
