Steven Paul Smith, known under his stage name Elliott Smith was an American composer, lyricist and musician. He was born on August 6, 1969 in Omaha, Nebraska, United States and died on October 21, 2003 in Portland, Oregon. He played primary guitar, but also he was proficient at piano, clarinet, bass guitar, drums, and harmonica. He began his solo career in a rock band Heatmiser, but in 1994 he decided to begin a solo career. He was influenced by many respected bands like U2, The Clash, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Pink floys and many others. He was a Beatles fan as well. He released five studio albums and several singles, some of them are Needle in the Hay, Baby Britain and Happiness. He died of two stub wounds to his chest.
