The Elms are an American rock band formed in 2000. The band members are Owen Thomas (vocals, guitar), Christopher D. Thomas (drums, vocals), Thomas Daugherty (guitar, vocals) and Nathan W. Bennett (bass guitar, vocals). The band is known for their breed of midwestern, rootsy rock, with the essence of the music of the 60's and 70's. Their sound can be compared to The Heartbreakers, The Black Crowes and Tom Petty. During their career they released five studio albums, one EP and one DVD. Their debut release The Elms EP was issued in 2001 and the last work The Great American Midrange was released in September 2009. The band is known for their energetic live performances and they are considered to be in the top five of the best new live groups.
