British progressive rock band Gryphon was formed in 1970. The band comprised Brian Gulland (Bassoon, Krumhorn, Recorder, Keyboards, Vocals), Richard Harvey (Recorder, Krumhorn, Mandolin, Keyboards, Vocals), Dave Oberlé (Drums, Percussion, Lead Vocals), Graeme Taylor (Electric & Acoustic Guitars, Vocals), Philip Nestor (Bass guitar, Vocals), Malcolm Bennett (Bass guitar, Flute), Jonathan Davie (Bass guitar), Bob Foster (Guitar) and Graham Preskett (Keyboards, mandolin, violin, guitar, percussion). The band's music sound is often considered as English folk rock with influences of renaissance. They rose to fame in 1973 with their self-titled debut album, which yielded the singles, "Pastime with Good Company" and "The Unquiet Grave".
