Gwar or GWAR is an American thrash metal band from Richmond, Virginia, the United States, formed in 1985. The band came through multiple lineup changes and the current members are Oderus Urungus (lead vocals), Beefcake the Mighty (bass guitar, backing vocals), Flattus Maximus (lead guitar, backing vocals), Balsac the Jaws of Death (rhythm guitar backing vocals), Jizmak Da Gusha (drums, percussion), Sleazy P. Martini (manager, vocals). The band is known first of all for their sci-fi/horror film costumes and obscene lyrics. They also mock at celebrities during their live shows. Targets of their humor included George W. Bush, Osama Bin Laden, Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton, Barack Obama, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Adolf Hitler and many other people.
