British progressive Celtic rock band Iona was formed at the end of 1980s by lead vocalist Joanne Hogg and two multi-instrumentalists David Fitzgerald and Dave Bainbridge. During the career the band underwent several lineup changes and the current members are Joanne Hogg – lead vocals, keyboards and acoustic guitar, Dave Bainbridge – lead guitar, Frank Van Essen – drums, percussion and violin and Phil Barker – bass. The band’s name refers to the island Iona and the debut self-titled albums was dedicated to the history of that island. In total the band has released six studio albums with the last one issued in 2006. They also released a CD of best collection, anthology and two live albums and two DVDs.
