Biography: Samuel Beam known better as his stage and recording name Iron & Wine was born on July 26, 1974 in South Carolina, the United States. He is an American singer-songwriter, playing guitar and banjo and covering such genres as indie rock and indie folk. He released his debut album The Creek Drank the Cradle in 2002. He wrote, performed, recorded and produced all the album in his home studio. The sound can be compared with one of Elliott Smith, John Fahey, Simon and Garfunkel. His third album The Shepherd’s Dog was somewhat a breakthrough. It was voted as one of the ten best albums of 2007 according to the Paste magazine. The album reached number 24 on the charts.
