James Travis Reeves (August 20, 1923 – July 31, 1964) known also as Gentleman Jim and Jim Reeves was an American country/pop singer popular in 50s and in 60s. He also could become known internationally because of pioneering Nashville sound. He is a member of Country Music and Texas Music Hall of Fame. One of his most famous songs is Distant Drums which could beat Beatles in 1966 in the UK charts. He was also popular in Sri Lanka and India. He recorded several album is Afrikaans and was very popular in South Africa. His major hits are "I Love You Because" (a duet with Ginny Wright), "Mexican Joe", "Bimbo" and "He'll Have to Go". All his Jim Reeves' albums and different compilations can be found on our site in mp3 to download. He’s considered to be a legend of country music. Reeves died in aircraft accident.
