Andre Hicks better known as Mac Dre was a creator of Thizz music and one of the originators of hyphy. He was born on July 5, 1970 in Oakland, California, the United States and died on November 1, 2004 in Kansas City, Missouri, the U.S. He gained the popularity in the beginning of 1990s throughout the Bay Area and in the middle of 90s he rose to the national recognition through his independent record labels Romp and Thizz Entertainment. In 1992 he was sentenced to five years in jail as he was alleged to be a member of a robbery gang. Being in prison he recorded two songs over the telephone, titled Punk Police and Back N da Hood. During his career he released many albums and collaborated with various artists like Snoop Dogg,[2] Warren G, Richie Rich, Keak da Sneak, E-40, Daz Dillinger and others.
