Mew is a Danish alternative music band formed in Hellerup, Denmark in 1994. The band consists of Jonas Bjerre, Bo Madsen and of Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen. Their music style can be described as indie and sometimes progressive rock, the band considers itself to be “pretentious art rock”. The band was formed when all members were in school and their debut album A Triumph for a Man was released by 200 copies which were all sold out. The young group was under influence of My Bloody Valentine, Pixies and Dinosaur Jr. The first mainstream international success happened in 2003 when they released their album Frengers. They toured supporting R.E.M and the public paid more attention to them. Their next album And the Glass Handed Kites received critic acclaim. In 2009 the band is said to support Nine Inch Nails. Their next album No More Stories is going to be released in August 2009. You can download Mew’s breakthrough album Frengers in mp3 from our site.
