Richard Starkey, better known as his stage name Ringo Starr, is an English musician and singer-songwriter born on July 7, 1940 in Dingle, Liverpool, England. He gained the worldwide popularity as the drummer of the cult rock group the Beatles. Being a drummer, he also was a lead vocalist in several famous Beatle songs like “Yellow submarine” and "With a Little Help from My Friends". He also co-wrote several songs and wrote fully "By» and "Octopus's Garden". In addition, he played the central character in several Beatles films. After the Beatles broke up in 1970 he achieved the commercial success being a solo artist and collaborating with his fellow former members of the Beatles. During his solo career, he has released 14 studio albums. His best-selling album Ringo was released in 1973 and became Platinum in the U.S. and gold in the UK.
