Biography: Ringo Shiina, birth name Yumiko Shiina, born on November 25, 1978 in Urawa, Saitama, Japan. She is a singer, songwriter and composer and she considers herself a soft-music player. She plays guitar, piano, keyboards, bass guitar, drum, koto, shamisen, harmonica, melodica, harpsichord, accordion and has a mezzo-soprano voice. At first she began solo career, but on May 31, 2004 she formed the Tokyo Jihen band (the Tokyo Incidents). Ringo Shiina released nine solo albums beginning from 1999 till 2009 and some of them are available on our site to download. They are “Heisei Fuzoku”, “Shouso Strip”. She issued 3 studio albums with Tokyo Jihen, they are Kyouiku/Kyoiku/Kyôiku, Adult and Variety. She collaborated with many Japanese singers like Kusano Masamune, Junpei Shiina, SOIL&"PIMP"SESSIONS etc.
