American folk rock and pop band Simon & Garfunkel from Forest Hills, Queens, New York City, NY, USA, was formed in 1957. The band comprises Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. They had their first taste of success with the minor hit "Hey, Schoolgirl". In 1970, they released their best selling album, Bridge Over Troubled Water, which won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year, as well as for Best Engineered Recording, while its title track won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Song of the Year in the Grammy Awards of 1971. The album also spawned the singles, "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "El Condor Pasa", "Cecilia", "The Only Living Boy in New York" and "Bye Bye Love". This album attained a great success in the United Kingdom, enjoying several runs at number one, spending some years in the charts and eventually becoming the country's biggest-selling album of 1970 and 1971.
