Switchfoot is an American alternative rock band coming from San Diego, California, US. The band was formed in 1996 and it comprises Jon Foreman, Tim Foreman, Chad Butler, Jerome Fontamillas and Drew Shirley. The group gained mainstream success when four of their songs were included in the soundtrack to the film A Walk to Remember. This recognition led to the contract with a major label where they recorded and released their forth album The Beautiful Letdown. The album spawned their best-known hits Meant to Live and Dare You to Move. The next album Nothing is Sound started at #3 on Billboard 200 album chart and it’s the highest achievement for the group so far. The main influences on the group are U2, The Beatles and Keith Green.
