Biography: English trip hop and alternative musician and actor Tricky (birth name Adrian Nicholas M. Thaws) was born on 27 January 1968, in Knowle West, Bristol, England. At the age of 15, he began to write lyrics ("I like to rock, I like to dance, I like pretty girls taking down their pants" MixMag '96). At the age of 17, he spent some time in prison because he bought forged £50 notes from a friend, who later informed the police. In an interview, Tricky said: "Prison was really good. I'm never going back". As a producer and a musician, he is noted for a dark, rich and layered sound and a whispering sprechgesang lyrical style. He gained popularity in 1994 with his debut album, Maxinquaye, which produced several singles such as "Aftermath", "Ponderosa", "Overcome", "Black Steel" and "Pumpkin". The album was later released in America and received great critical acclaim. And now, you may download Tricky's breakthrough debut album, Maxinquaye, in mp3 from our site.
