Robert Matthew Van Winkle known better as his stage name Vanilla Ice is an American rapper born on October 31, 1967 in Dallas, Texas, United states. He rose to the mainstream success in the beginning of 1990s after singing a deal with SBK Records. They released his album Hooked under the title To the Extreme. The album contained new artwork and music. It became the fastest selling hip hop album of all time reaching the number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The album spent 16 weeks in the charts and sold about eleven million copies. The lead single Ice Ice Baby was the first hip hop single in the history to top the Billboard charts so the hip hop was presenting to the mainstream audience for the first time.
