Biography: American rock, blues-rock and hard rock band ZZ Top from Houston, Texas, United States, was formed in 1969. The band comprises Billy Gibbons (lead vocals and lead guitar), Dusty Hill (vocals, bass, and keyboards), and Frank Beard (drums). The players who would comprise the band had been in different Texas-based bands, most notably the Moving Sidewalks with Gibbons, and American Blues with Hill and Beard. The band played its first show in 1970, and toured Texas almost continuously for the next several years. After that, they signed with London Records. In 1983, they released their best selling album, Eliminator, which was certified 4x Platinum.
