Robert Anson Heinlein was one of the greatest science-fiction authors of the 20th century. He was born on July 7, 1907 in Butler, Missouri, the United States and died on May 8, 1988 in Carmel, California, the United States. Heinlein, Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke were “the big three” of the science-fiction genre. Heinlein is known for his controversy and his political activism. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis and served as an officer in the United States Navy. However he had to retire after 5 years due to his illness. He was married three times. His second wife was political activist. Heinlein was socialist but later he was ashamed of his views. Some of his most popular works are “Stranger in a Strange Land”, «The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress», “Starship Troopers”, “Double Star” and many others.
