Ursula Kroeber Le Guin is an American author born on October 21, 1929 in Berkeley, California, the United States. She is one of the most famous female science fiction and fantasy author in the world. She received Bachelor of Arts from Redcliff College and Master’s Degree from Columbia University. She studied in France and met there her future husband Charles Le Guin. She had been interested in literature and writing since her childhood. She wrote her first story when she was eleven and sent it to the magazine but received a reject. Le Guin gained the first success and recognition after the publication of her science fiction novel The Left Hand of Darkness. The book earned her Hugo and Nebula awards.
